Top Unicorn Games in Africa Q3 2024: Unified Platform Analysis

In the third quarter of 2024, the unicorn-themed games in Africa demonstrated varied performance across weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at how each of the top five games fared during this period, based on Sensor Tower data.

Kpopsies - Hatch Baby Unicorns by TutoTOONS saw fluctuations in its weekly revenue, peaking at around $406 in early September. The game experienced a gradual increase in weekly downloads, reaching over 8K downloads in mid-August. Active user numbers remained robust, peaking at approximately 33.7K in late August before seeing a decline towards the end of the quarter.

My Little Pony: Harmony Quest from Budge Studios maintained a relatively stable revenue stream, with a notable increase to $212 in late August. The game’s weekly downloads varied, starting the quarter with around 993 downloads and ending with 483. Active users showed a slight decline, starting at around 6.3K and concluding the quarter at 5.6K.

My Baby Unicorn - Pony Care, also from TutoTOONS, experienced a peak in revenue at $332 in late August. Weekly downloads showed a declining trend, from an initial 619 to 200 by the quarter's end. Active users followed a similar downward trajectory, decreasing from 2.9K to 1.9K.

Unicorn Dash: Fun Runner 2 by SOCEM did not generate revenue during this period. However, its downloads decreased significantly from 955 at the beginning of the quarter to 187 by the end. Active user numbers also fell from 1.9K to 802.

Revenue peaked at $223 in late July, while weekly downloads dropped sharply, reaching single-digit figures by the end of the quarter. Despite this, active users remained relatively stable, ranging between 2.4K and 3.3K throughout the quarter.
